GOOD NEWS! OPEN AT LAST

Closed since 1998, now open again!

Located at:

The Museum's site at 36 Moreland Street, Footscray, is now open. This site carries a small but well-chosen selection of the Museum's collection (less than 10%). It is open for limited hours/days. Visitation at other times is possible for visitors from interstate or overseas, by appointment. Entrance door is at side of building.

OPENING TIMES

Details of days, times and prices on our General Admission page.

Other programs, such as Access Studio, Graphic Students' Workshops and large-group visits, can be booked for non-open days.

Why did we move, and why is the collection still in jeopardy? Read this.

Signage on Museum

The building has little signage. Our screen-printing upstairs neighbour Crazy Shirts have a small sign. The Museum's signage at the time of writing consists of temporary signs only.

Public Transport from Melbourne City:

Either: Bus 216 or 219 travelling North in Queen Street to the Moreland Street stop, Footscray: travel time 12 min, walk 3 min. [Walk South in Moreland Street 150 metres.]

or: Train from any city station to Footscray: travel time 8 min, walk 8 min. At Footscray station go to platform 4 exit (if not there already), walk East along Bunbury St 400 m, then North along Moreland St to No.36. If it helps, follow signs to Footscray Community Arts Centre (they are No. 45): the Museum is just North of the Arts Centre on the opposite side of Moreland Street.

Car Travel

The Museum is located in Moreland Street, about 100 m South of its intersection with Hopkins Street. Hopkins is the extension (after crossing the Maribyrnong River) of the better-known Dynon Road, a main artery from the city. From Dynon Road/Hopkins St, turn left into Moreland St, immediately after crossing the river.

There is ample on-street ticket parking around the Museum. Free parking on Sundays.
